In Grade 6 these last few weeks we have had so much fun!
Reading the Classics
We have been reading and comparing Charles Dickens and Shakespeare; both amazing authors but totally different.
Hamlet is very descriptive and has a great storyline of the Fatherly Ghost combined with emotional torment for Hamlet – what a sad ending too!
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens on the other hand started out so bitterly but ended wonderfully – it’s Mrs Jimenez’s favourite!
The Grade 6 class love Marcia Williams as she retells these complicated older novels and rewrites them for us children to understand.
We are Electric!
In Science we have studied plugs, conductors, insulators and circuit diagrams together with fun-filled practicals!
WE love resistance, love creating circuits under time restrictions and love electrical circuit symbol bingo!
In Maths we have revised and played games with doubling and halving, multiplying and division and of course continued learning our times tables. Do you know yours?
We have really enjoyed Big Writing over the last few weeks – relaxing time to put our feet down and write write write – we have re-capped how to use adjectives, paragraphs and also adverbs with extra cool writing techniques (similes, personification… you name it, we are trying to use it!)
