The Grade 6 children have been busy vying for the honour of the position of Head Boy or Head Girl of the school.
In past years we have had three house team captains, however this year, due to our smaller numbers, we decided to do things slightly differently. Each child submitted a letter of application stating why they thought that they should receive this honour. The quality of these applications was very high. The students were then invited to attend an interview in the office with the Senior Management Team of the school (Mrs Hinks, Mrs Saunders, Mrs Jimenez and Mr Chung). All of the candidates conducted themselves very well during the interview process and gave impressive answers to the questions put to them, despite finding it "quite tough". A few examples of the questions were:* How would solve a dispute on the playground?
* What if it involved your friends?
* What would be the most difficult part of the job?
* What characteristics do you posses which make you a suitable candidate for this role?
Although all of our Grade 6 students conducted themselves incredibly well, we were left with the difficult decision of choosing only one of them. After much debate, the decision was made. In assembly yesterday we invited Destini Taylor to take on the responsibility of Head Girl of The International School of the Turks and Caicos Islands. She was delighted to accept! All of her class mates applauded her as the announcement was made. CONGRATULATIONS DESTINI!
