The most Popular Preschool Activities

Preschool has had a great month of February filled with fun activities. Our weekly themes have been Valentine's Day, 5 senses, and Dinosaurs.

Touch, Smell, Taste, See and Hear

For 5 senses, we talked about a different sense each day. We LOVED getting to smell the delicious spice of cinnamon and sugar, and sprinkled it onto Apple slices for a tasty snack. We also enjoyed getting to touch shaving cream, feeling its soft texture.  

Stomp, Stomp! Roar, Roar....here come the DINOSAURS!

The most popular preschool activities for February were (no surprise here) DINOSAURS! We had so many great Dino activities. One of our favorites was our Dino song.

"Dinosaur, dinosaur, turn around (as you turn).

Dinosaur, dinosaur, stomp the ground (as you stomp your feet).

Dinosaur, dinosaur, show your claws (as you bring your hands up and claw at the air).

Dinosaur, dinosaur, snap your jaws (as you shut your arms to resemble jaws shutting)."

The students loved singing it (with multiple 'AGAIN?!' requests.) We also loved our dinosaur dig sensory bin. I filled a bin with sand, hidden dinos (poking out of the sand), and rakes. We have a pretty vocal class, but the first few moments of playing in the bin were filled with the silence of pure wonder! We had great fun not only feeling the sand, but using the tools to help dig out the dinos.

One of the most popular preschool activities this month, was when we turned the kitchen table into a breakfast area. I brought in a K-Cup coffee box, Orange Juice, and 2 coffee creamers (all cleaned out and dried, of course.) We had a wonderful time preparing each other very yummy drinks.   International_School_Turks_and_Caicos              

New Improved Play Centers!

A special shout-out to Ms. Vina (JK teacher) this last week. We felt like sprucing some of our centers up, and she stayed after work one day to help us come up with ideas, and even move furniture! Now we can have even more popular preschool activities! Much love from the Preschool class.
