Our Team
Hello, I am Mrs. Keira Prew and I am now moving into my 6th year teaching at ISTCI. I am the Middle School
Leader, responsible for Mathematics and Technology and Middle School Form teacher.
In 2003, I completed my degree in Mathematics with Psychology in the United Kingdom and went on to
complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) specialising in Secondary Mathematics. My teaching
Career started in the UK, teaching 5 years of secondary and A’ Level mathematics before moving to Sweden,
for a further 5 years, as head of the department for mathematics in an international school. In 2015 I moved to
the Turks and Caicos Islands teaching upper primary and secondary mathematics.
I am an energetic and enthusiastic teacher, who enjoys empowering students to be responsible citizens. In my
teaching, I enable students to apply their knowledge to real-world problems. I have a passion for learning
which I try to instill in my students by creating supportive lessons that accommodate all learning styles and
needs. In 2020, the Global pandemic combined with a need to ensure the best possible teaching and learning
for my students, provided the opportunity for me to become the first fully Certified Google Trainer in the Turks
and Caicos Islands. These technological skills are being shared with middle school students and form part of
their technology curriculum today.
My passion for learning has led me to complete a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from
Harvard Business School Online and School of Education. I am currently embarking on an Open University
course ‘Understanding ADHD’.
My interests include spending time with my family, beach days, swimming, travelling, geocaching, and studying.
