The Indus Valley Civilization was quite a fascinating piece of Earth’s history especially for the impressionable minds of Grade Five. Heights of interest and intrigue continue to be present as our students analyse and study information on this highly innovated civilization.
It was uncovered just how modernized the people of Indus were in those early days of history. So impressive that even 4000 years later in time people in Europe did not have the luxury of some of the facilities they possessed.
Our Grade five students learnt and discussed the marvels of this Bronze Age era and what it held. For example: somewhat modern versions of toilets, sewage system, wells and brick structures carefully designed to withstand the test of time. Carvings and potteries were viewed that expressed key aspects of this ancient culture which was compared to aspects of our modern societies.
The anticipation of recreating a miniature replica of this awesome civilization had Grade five students focused and geared to go! We started out with careful planning of our design and targeted what we want to bring to reality using materials at our disposal.
We are happy to say that we are close to the final product. The students of Grade five are greatly anticipating the next session of work on this project.
