Record crowds enjoy the festivities at the International School TCI Christmas Fair 2016
The PTA of the International School of TCI hosted another bumper Christmas Fair this year which saw record crowds and lots of festive fun! Held annually in the sunshine of the school grounds our fair attracts lots of families from our community to kick off the holiday season with games and treats. This year, as always, there was a lot of fun activities to keep the children busy! With help from the class teacher the parents of each class from Nursery to Grade 6 organised, set up and ran an activity such as the very busy cotton candy and the popcorn stand! All proceeds from the International School Christmas Fair will go to new sporting equipment for the school, plus each class will get a percentage of the profits from their activity to spend on their classroom.Activities included: Santa's grotto, cookie decorating, Tombola, 'Cake Walk' game, Craft workshop, baked treats, bounce houses, disco
sponge throw, 'Where is Santa? game and the dreaded Gunge a teacher competition. Our student council members hosted their own very popular face painting stand.
Potcake Puppies
New this year was the mini puppy petting zoo where children could take turns to sit with two Potcake pups and have a cuddle. There was a donation made to Pampered Paws for their cause. Such a cute idea to give the children some puppy time!Wet Sponges and Gunge
During the fair, children and adults had the chance to throw a wet sponge at the Elf; always a fun activity to get Mr. Bell. Back by popular demand (by the children) was the 'Gunge a teacher/parent' competition. What great sports our teachers are! Buckets, adorned with a teacher or parent's photo, were collecting monetary donations in the weeks running up to the fair. The person with the highest amount of money got the prize of a huge pail of yucky stuff poured on them! Our cheerful English Language teacher Mr. Victor VanCleeff took up the challenge with huge smiles even with a pile of stinky spaghetti on his head.Festive Food Favourites and cool drinks
Energetic members of the PTA staffed the festive bar and the delicious grill! Many thanks to all the helpers!Artwork Auction
All the children of each class worked with their teacher to make a beautiful Christmas wreath or piece of art which were all proudly displayed at the International School TCI Christmas Fair. These items were art of a silent auction and the bidding went high! The parents battled over the bid sheets to claim their prize. An enormous thank you to all those who helped out at the Christmas Fair and in the weeks leading up to it! It is a huge job but team work makes it all come together!Santa's Grotto
We welcomed a very special guest to meet the children. Santa enjoyed his home from home style grotto and spent a long time chatting to the children and even gave them a candy cane. The children were also able to hand in their Christmas letters to the man himself! The day itself was a fantastic success and full of fun.
See you next year at the International School TCI Christmas Fair
