Hooray 100 days! This is the time of year when pupils and teachers across the world celebrate the 100th day of school. As part of Education Week our school has many fun and educational activities planned.
JK have learnt so much in 100 days!
The JK children are getting very good at counting and we are pleasantly surprised at how many of them are able to count well beyond the JK programme.
Through our daily activity we can see how much their counting has improved and how they are acquiring better understanding of counting in 1s and 10s.
Our entire school celebrated the 100th day of school in many different ways, the most fun was dressing up as 100 year olds!
More than just a milestone worth noting - the 100th day is the perfect time in Junior Kindergarten to have fun with the number 100 while exploring counting, sorting, patterning, measuring and various other math skills and concepts.
In order to celebrate 100 days of school the children brought in 100 of something. i.e. pennies, beads, pasta, game pieces, cotton balls, pretzels, etc.
The children were very creative with this task and we counted all the objects together by 10's!
Also to celebrate the 100th day of school, we had a parade and a little class party.
What loads of fun in learning.
Way to go JK!
