Bringing home the gold for DDME Hurricane Preparedness Month
We are very proud to announce that six of our students from Grades 4-6 placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the DDME's Inter-Primary Art Competition and also placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Inter-Primary Poetry Competition. The children were presented with awards at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort Villages and Spa. The artwork was displayed and the winning poems were beautifully recited by the poets themselves to the large enthusiastic audience.
The competition was part of DDME Hurricane Preparedness Month. The theme of this year’s HPM is “Are you prepared for the unexpected?” The DDME is encouraging nation-wide preparedness in both the public and private sectors as well as within communities. The Atlantic Hurricane Season is less than four weeks away and the DDME says research has shown that persons who take concrete steps to prepare for an event are more likely to survive.
