Exploring South Caicos with Grade 4
This June, Grade 4 had a marvelous time exploring the island of South Caicos.
The class had the pleasure of visiting Iris Stubbs Primary School, the salinas, the famous Boiling Hole, where there were Flamingos sun bathing nearby, and the newly developed Sailrock Resort, where they enjoyed a history lesson.
The students were captivated by the island's beauty!
The group, led by teacher Indrani Saunders, took off by ferry and landed in the country's fishing capital.
About South Caicos
South Caicos is the seventh-largest island in the Turks and Caicos archipelago, with a land area of 21.2 square kilometres . South Caicos is known for excellent fishing, both deep-sea and bone fishing, and scuba diving.
South Caicos, or The Big South, is the fishing capital of the islands, and boasts the best natural harbor and several fishing plants, processing most of the nation’s seafood harvest of lobster, conch and fish for export and local consumption. It is home to the annual Big South Regatta each May.
