Grade 6 is buzzing!
Grade 6 have spent the last few weeks studying Electricity: we have studied symbols, how to draw complicated circuits, how to make the bulbs brighter or dimmer… how to increase and decrease resistance and we found the time to play electrical circuits bingo; some people are whizzes! Every other lesson was a practical – we love doing Electricity!
In Literacy we have covered non-fiction: recounts where we looked at the Story “the Day of Ahmed’s Secret” and personal and impersonal recounts of natural disasters; we were more than able to write our own personal recounts on Irma - it was scary stuff! Mrs Jimenez really loved reading them too! We have also been reading one of our favourite novels: Warhorse, we just can’t get enough of Michael Morpurgo!! We have been focusing on character reviews, multi-clause sentences and punctuation within sentences. We have been super busy!
We have been suffix-mad in our spellings and some people are also preparing and busily practising for the upcoming Spelling Bee too!
Grade 6 have many things to look forward to in the next few weeks – harder spellings, the upcoming poetry unit and also we will be reading some Charles Dickens – David Copperfield is going to be great!
Grade 6 is awesome!
