Experts agree that play is an integral part of the healthy development of all young children. Play is enjoyable for all children. Dramatic play supports the development of the following skills:
- Expressive and receptive language
- Creative thinking
- Self-regulation
- Cooperation and sharing
We turned our dramatic area into a doctor's office and a hospital. The children took turns being the doctor and the patient. I loved listening to the children role play and the empathy that they had to the patients.
We also learned that dogs also need to get a check up however, they go see a veterinarian.
Ms. Laura visited our classroom with her dog Cooper and we were able to brush him, listen to his heart and see x-rays.
