Halloween at the International School took a big step up this year! As families passed by to gather the Leeward Community Trick or Treat maps, they were able to enjoy a number of highlights set up on the school grounds.
Individuals could grab a hot dog, a slice of pizza, a bag of popcorn. Little ones could spend a spell in a bouncy castle, partake in some finger painting, or have their faces painted by the school’s talented in-house artist, Ms. Tamara.
Others chose to purchase a pack of slime, a glow stick, or simply visit with their peers.
The haunted house was the newest addition to the party this year, filled with ghouls and ghostly apparitions that scared even the older adolescents that dared to enter its front door! With live characters skirting through the walls, along with talking dolls, there was a fright factor for everyone.
Leading up to the event was ISTCIs first Pumpkin Carving Contest, of which was won by the Reaston- Brown family, with their cleverly designed four-sided pumpkin.
Many other families submitted their designs, offering families a fabulous pumpkin patch backdrop in which to take some festive happy snaps of their children on the evening.
Organizers also led up to the event with a school-wide colouring competition. Winners included Enna Lightbourne (Grade 2), Francesco Otin (Grade 3), and Jacey Hannenberg (Grade 5).
Next year’s event will be even bigger and better!
