ISTCI's Grade 7 and 8 classes had the pleasure of meeting the fastest man on Earth on Wednesday, 1 May. Mr Usain Bolt, the Jamaican born track star, came to visit with the youth of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Students from across the country congregated at the Gustavus Lightbourne Centre, where Usain waltzed into the sound of cheers from old and young alike. He chatted with the crowd, discussing what hard work would bring to those who were willing to sacrifice and commit to their personal goals. Questions were asked of him by various students in the auditorium, and then photos were taken and autographs signed.
Prior to Mr Bolt taking centre stage, Bradley Theodore Harvey from South Caicos spoke to the youth. This vivacious speaker is known for his visual arts, from street murals to oil paintings on canvas, mixing the inspiration New York City provides with the vibrant colours of his birthplace Turks & Caicos.
