At Ashcroft, we pride ourselves on our high level of academic achievement and learning ethos through which all students are encouraged to fulfil their individual potential. The end of the school term is an important time to cement the experiences and lessons learnt. The children however are a little tired after so much work so we created a fun and exciting way to test their knowledge!
Phew! Everyone is just calming down after the nail-biting end of term Brainiac competition. The Caribs, Arawaks and Tainos were tested on spelling, science, music, maths, history, general knowledge, french and Spanish. The children made the teachers and parents very proud with their efforts and correct answers.
From Senior Kindergarten to Grade 6 they battled all morning and the scores were very close. Finally the Caribs pulled away to win overall. They are obviously the best listeners in class! They won an ice cream party!
Thank you to Mrs Eiglys Snead for the inspiration and hard work to set up the competition, and also a thank you to the teachers making our children so smart!
