We are pleased to announce that a literacy initiative known as 'Big Writing' starts this week at Ashcroft School.
This programme strongly supports the key objectives of the National Curriculum. It focuses on the development of talk and oral rehearsal, accurate skills of spelling, punctuation, grammar and handwriting, regular and meaningful assessment, target setting, high expectations for all pupils, giving writing a purpose and making writing fun!
