This term, the Grade 4 class has been learning about the Tudors. The Tudors period was a very exciting time in history!! Our topic was incorporated in all subject areas.
In Art, the students painted portraits of Henry VIII. They were very interested in learning about the life of Henry VIII, his wives and his children. Our discussions lead us to the topic of Tudor exploration and why it was so important. They were very proud of their drawings of Tudor ships. In Geography, we mapped the voyages of several explorers. The students were amazed by the conditions on the ships, the length of the voyage to the new world. In Design and Technology, the students designed, planned and constructed Tudor homes and castles!! Letting their creativity flow and the end results were magnificent!! Currently, they are constructing Tudor ships.
