Second grade has been off to a great start. We have been really busy learning and having fun together. We have done a wide range of cross-curricular activities which stimulates and enhance learning.
Our very child friendly and adventure filled literature book for this term is Flat Stanley. Flat Stanley is a 1964 children's book written by Jeff Brown and originally illustrated by Tomi Ungerer. It is the first in a series of books featuring Stanley Lambchop who travels the world in envelopes.
In this book Stanley learns of all the pros and cons of been flat. He had many wonderful explorations and even encountered some difficulties during some of adventures. Flat Stanley has a flight to catch! He will be visiting six of the seven continents that the children have been learning about.
Pictures and letters will be sent back to each student to show us all of the wonderful adventures he had with friends and families. When our post arrives we will give you an update!
