What better way to end a very exciting and productive term for Grade 5, when it encompasses the anticipation of Christmas and all the festivities that comes with it.
Here in Grade 5 at The International School we are very involved in Christmas activities. We joined with the rest of the school in a carol ceremony for the Salvation Army. There we sang in the cool evening wind while our parents and members of the community listened and song along with us.
At school for our Christmas Play, we adapted a bit of Malawi culture. Students were dressed in lovely straw outfits brandishing improvised drums and rattles as they sang ‘Kuyimba’ and shouted ‘Khilisimasi Yabwino’! This means happy Christmas in Malawi.
There was a distinct difference in each student’s persona coming to the end of the term. The relaxing calm that came with the Christmas holiday spirit was just contagious everywhere.
Season greetings to all members of our school family, especially students of Grade Five and their parents. Thanks for your hard work and support. We are looking forward to your continued efforts for next year.
We loved making our complex paper xmas creations with zendoodle 3D stars!
