October has been an exciting month all round with a special focus and highlight on Maths.
We embraced World Maths Day on the 14th of October by competing in our whole school Maths challenge, a super successful result for everyone as the final result was a tie between all houses.
We loved taking part in the international online World Education Games Maths competition allowing us to shine and demonstrate our great Mathletics skills.
Wonderful work Grade 3!
We continue love our fun active Maths lessons and activities. This month we have been exploring shape and learning about the properties of 3D objects.
We worked together to investigate the properties of regular 3D shapes and objects and identified the properties of the everyday objects we see and use around us in our classroom and at home.
We continued to investigate the properties of 3D objects by making nets and skeletons of shape, we especially enjoyed making our 3D skeletons of square-based pyramids combining our investigation in Maths with our exploration through Ancient Egypt.
This was great practice for our large scale 3D model of the Great Pyramid of Giza…to be revealed in November!
