School travels to the Artic!

This week in preschool to continue with the learning about artic animals, we learned polar bears and penguins love to swim. Each morning at circle time we did a science experiment, we added oil to the clean blue water and added our penguins to the water. We found out they are sticky and yucky when they were in the oily water and that the penguins didn't like to swim in that water. We added Dawn, washing up liquid, to the clean water and put the penguins in that water and the stickiness disappeared. Wow! We made two posters, one clean water and one dirty water, and learned that plastic can harm the penguins and fish.
