Over the past few weeks we have doing some incredible practical science.
What a buzz! Grade 2 has been studying Electricity, making complete circuits, and using motors to turn our own colour displays. The grade 2’s found this very exciting and are now complete whizzes at electricity!
Boing!!! Grade 3 has been looking at magnets and springs, testing the strength of different sized magnets, looking at the stretchiness of springs of different thicknesses and testing the stretchiness of elastic bands. Grade 3 are all stretched out!!!!
Dem bones, dem bones! In Grade 4, we have been looking at Moving and Growing, studying the skeleton and muscles, measuring the size of people’s bones…. Grade 4 are now amazing at graph work! We also started the year using separating solids and liquids, using the Bunsen Burners and had lots of fun.
yummy! Grade 5 now know all about Being Healthy, the food groups, what is in the food we eat, the effects of smoking on the lungs and much more. Grade 5 are currently studying Earth, Sun and Moon… ask them anything about the Solar System, they are amazing!!
Bzzzzzzz.......Grade 6 have been looking at forces, and this has been very hands on!! Measuring forces with newton meters, looking at upthrust, writing up practicals…. They are busy bees!!
