As a culmination of our Turks and Caicos Islands project, children of Grades 2, 4 and 5 shared in the planning and presentation of the annual ‘Ashcroft Conch Festival’.
Children joined forces as restaurant teams, developed advertising radio slogans and then set out to prepare, cook and present a culinary ‘conch’ delight, to recognize this treasure of TCI. Dishes presented by our little chefs included Conch Fritters, Conch Salad, Conch Chowder, Curried Conch and Cracked Conch.
With the help of many willing tasters, voting took place and the victorious restaurant team, ‘The Crazy Conch Bar’ received the trophy for their delicious cracked conch.
All chefs were praised for the quality and taste of their scrumptious dishes!
