  What a great performance by the Ashcroft soccer teams this year at the Interschool Tournament put on by the TCIFA (Turks & Caicos Islands Football Association) held at the soccer pitch. The boys truly looked and played like stars in their brand new uniforms, and the girls had an excellent performance as well in their games. The first round of the tournament took place on Thursday March 14^th where two of the boys Under 11 teams played against several other schools, and on Friday March 15^th where the girls played against other girl teams. 1st GAME: Team 1 Ashcroft vs. Provo Primary Result:  The Ashcroft boys blazed three goals on the Provo Primary’s goalkeeper and showed excellent defending skills by keeping them shut out with conceding no goals at all. Our memorable moments were how Naryan scored from half way in the centre and the goalie caught the ball but it was too powerful that the goalie dropped it into the goal. Then Javed scored a corner kick and curved it from the left into the goal and finally, how Sebastian scored from half way on the left wing! Final score: 3-0 to Ashcroft Team 1 Goal Scorers: Naryan, Javed, Sebastian 2nd GAME: Team 1 Ashcroft vs. Shining Stars Result: Ashcroft boys leathered FIVE beautiful goals on the Shinning Stars. And once again, they were able to completely shut out the Stars’ strikers by allowing no goals past Zarek our goalkeeper. Our memorable moments were how Jack kept scoring from the right side. GREAT HATRICK! Then Naryan received a pass from the wing  and slipped a goal in. Finally, Jack crossed the ball inside and Charlie tried and tried to score and they were close, until he finally tapped the ball in the net. Final score: 5-0 to Ashcroft Team 1 Goal Scorers: Jack (3 goals), Naryan, Charlie QUARTER FINAL: Team 1 Ashcroft vs. Team 2 Ashcroft Result: It was almost like watching the boys play against each other during lunch break on the playground at school, except much better and much more exciting! After many failed attempts of Team 1 getting the ball past Mika’el, Dylan from Team 2 was finally able to get one sneaked past Zarek to end the game with a 1-0 score. Ashcroft’s Team 2 qualified to go forward to the semi-finals the following Friday. Most memorable was Mika’el. He goalkept like a brick wall, nobody was able to get the ball past him. Team 1 shot and shot and shot but Mika’el saved each and every one of them. Final score: 1-0 to Ashcroft Team 2 Goal Scorer: Dylan

SEMI FINAL: Team 2 Ashcroft vs. Enid Capron What an exciting semi-final game it was between these two talented teams. The Enid Capron team kept marking Dylan for the entire game, but he was finally able to score a beautiful goal.Excellent performances also were made by Andrei Telniceanu, and Jack Parlee. Special mention should be made to the two star subs who came on with fresh legs and great skill; and even though they were younger (Grades 2 and 3), put on an amazing performance: Vijay Kalliecharan and Joshua Saunders. It was really nice to have all the parents and other students who came out to support and cheer on the teams for this exciting tournament. Congratulations to the goal scorers and everyone on the team, we’re looking forward to another amazing performance in 2014!
