The stars shone bright on 9th December 2016 at Brayton Hall as the children of the International School dazzled the audience with their catchy songs and beautiful nativity story.
We eagerly watched as the children portrayed traditional nativity characters traveling to Bethlehem whilst singing some not-so-traditional, up-beat songs.
The children, from Grade 1 to 6, had been conscientiously rehearsing their roles and the jazzy songs over the past weeks at school and at home and the hard work really paid off. The audience thoroughly enjoyed themselves as they laughed, swayed and clapped at the fun performance, which included some superb solos.
'Superstar' told the story of a member of the school Celestial Choir who is vying to dazzle music teacher Mr. Marrz, and hoping to be awarded a ‘superstar’ role in this year’s nativity. To her surprise Stella - who often gets things wrong but always tries her very best – is picked to play the part of the Star of Bethlehem because she understands the heart of the Christmas message. As the special performance unfolds, the children shine a light on the traditional nativity story and point to Jesus being the true superstar of Christmas.
Our PTA provided many baked treats and savouries at the intermission and everyone enjoyed the festive bar.
Congratulation to all the children and Mrs. Fielding, our wonderful music teacher, for a dazzling performance at this year's ISTCI Christmas Show.
