The International School of the Turks and Caicos Islands Swim Team travelled to Nassau, Bahamas to compete in the Alpha Aquatics International Invitational Swim Meet at the Betty Kelly Kenning National Swim Complex, February 21-22, 2020.
The 9 person swim team consisted of:
Ethan Taylor - Team Captain (Grade 7)
Anjali Saunders (Grade 7)
Brianna Burton (Grade 7)
Ella Schofield (Grade 7)
Alyssa Gibbs (Grade 7)
Auren Riggs (Grade 5)
Cassandra Williams (Grade 6)
Jayden Davis (Grade 6)
Emma Boulet (Grade 7)
The swimmers were accompanied by their coach, Mr. Benneth Williams and Team Manager Mrs. Drani Saunders.
Mr. Williams was very pleased with the results of all of the swimmers, many who swam at least 3 races. Those who returned for the second time, had improved their times.
Congratulations to Jayden Davis who received 2 medals. He received first place in the breaststroke and 3rd place in backstroke. A great achievement for his first international swim meet!
Particularly good swims came from Cassandra Williams, Auren Riggs, Emma Boulet and Alyssa Gibbs who were attending their first ever official competition.
They competed in their chosen events against 25 teams from Nassau, Bahamas. Our swimmers looked equally strong across all age groups and it was lovely to see all team members cheering throughout the evening.
A big thank you to all the parents that helped to support the team and those who came to support their swimmers in the Bahamas.
We look forward to the next competition!
