The Roman Empire has been a very interesting and exciting topic for the Grade 6 class. Together, we have learned about the rise and fall of this empire, the importance of the army and Roman architecture.  After studying the architecture, the students replicated the Roman aqueducts in Design and Technology. In Art, the students sketched temples and also made mosaics and borders based upon the Roman design. After learning about the destruction of the city of Pompeii by Mount Vesuvius, the students made volcanos to reenact this historical event. Lastly, they each are making their own abacus. Its sure has been a very busy and exciting term!!
