Last half term, Senior Kindergarten learnt all about ‘Community Helpers’ as part of their ongoing topic.
We were lucky enough to have members of the Royal Turks and Caicos Police Force visit our school to talk about how they catch criminals and keep us safe here in Providenciales. They also showed us their bulletproof vest, handcuffs and their badge!
Afterwards, the children were able to visit the police car – see the flashing lights and hear the siren! The children asked some wonderful questions including ‘Do you have police horses here in Provo?’ and ‘What is the vest you wear under your uniform for?’. A huge thank you to Rain’s mum for organising this for us!
The following week, we had nurses from Cheshire Hall Medical Centre to discuss hand hygiene. The students were given a demonstration on how to properly wear and remove the face masks.
The nurses also talked to the children about different types of medication and how to carry out simple clinical assessments.
Each child was given a certificate of participation for taking part in the workshop. Also, thank you to Zayn’s mum who organised this for us!
