Last month, Grade 6 were extremely lucky to have Her Excellency Deputy Governor Anya Williams as a special guest in their classroom.
This half term, Grade 6 learnt about TCI and one of their learning objectives was to explore how the country is governed.
Deputy Governor Williams spoke to the students about her job and how many people she is responsible for – which is around 2,100! We also discovered that as a British Oversees Colony our Head of State is the Queen but Deputy Governor Williams and His Excellency, The Governor help her to manage the country.
It was fascinating to find out that she has visited Buckingham Palace and was given an award by Prince Charles for all of her hard work here in TCI!
A huge thank you to Honorable Williams, Deputy Governor for coming to visit Grade 6 and sharing all of her knowledge. Hopefully, Grade 6 can visit the government buildings in Grand Turk soon!
