On November 3rd, Hindus all around the world celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights. The students at The Ashcroft School learnt about this beautiful celebration and shared their knowledge with their peers in a special assembly.
Students in Senior Kindergarten and Grade 4 made clay dias and decorated them. They learned about the significance of the light and the dias. The beautiful dias were light and on display in the assembly.
Earlier in the day, in Grade 4, the students assembled in the Staff room to learn how to make mouth-watering samosas with Mrs. Kalliecharan. The students also learned how to make parsad, a special dessert.
The SK class with Mrs. Hinks made special sweets. These delicious desserts were shared with all the students during assembly time.
