End of Year Celebration and Graduation 2017
On the penultimate day of the school year 2017 our school community came together to celebrate all the academic, sporting and personal achievements of the children.
There was much to celebrate with many children from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 6 being awarded academic achievement trophies for scoring high on the annual English and Maths tests.
Throughout the evening the crowd was highly entertained with each class performing a musical hit from the movie 'Trolls'. Thrilled with the fun dance moves and solo performances the audience clapped and sang along with the children.
The guest speaker this year was a member of our alumni, Sean O'Neill, who spoke about his happy school days over 20 years ago. He now runs a very successful law firm in Provo. He gave the children some great advice about working hard and being grateful for the opportunities that school and families provide.
The celebration was tinged with sadness as the school said goodbye to a few Grade 5 and 6 leavers. Each child gave a heart-warming speech of thanks and reminisced about their primary school years.
Proudly wearing their board hats, each child from Senior Kindergarten received a certificate for graduating the early years foundation stage before going to 'big class' in Grade 1!
There were also presentations of gifts and cards to the PTA class reps and to parents who were helpful throughout the year with such things as library help, swimming classes, reading to children and providing transportation on class trips.
Refreshments were supplied by the ever helpful members of the PTA.
