What a fun night! The International School's annual fundraiser on 14th November at Blue Haven's 'Fire and Ice' restaurant was a great success in terms of funds raised and a great opportunity for parents, teachers and friends to get together socially.
We would like to thank all the volunteers who helped organize the event, donate items, create the class baskets and make the event run very smoothly. We make a great team!
PTA Annual Fundraiser
With the backdrop of the beautiful 'fall inspired' decorations at Fire and Ice restaurant and live music from Val Kalliecharan and Gordon Lightbourne, the guests were able to browse through and bid on an array of raffle items, silent auction items and beautifully wrapped gift baskets.
The guests also enjoyed heavy passed hors d'oeuvres, a scrumptious buffet and dessert table, plus a citrus welcome cocktail!
An important part of this fundraising event each year is the gallery of children's artwork. Each class works very hard with their teacher to create an inspired piece of art. The proud parents were very much inspired to bid for the finished pieces too!
The 'Zendoodles' theme for all the artwork this year was chosen by Ms. Jessica, our Preschool teacher, who liaised with and organized each class in order to create their work. Thanks also to Ms. Vina and Lisa French.
What is Zendoodling?
It is the hottest new trend in the drawing and painting world. Doodling’s probably been around for centuries but now if you cover an entire piece of paper with them, you are creating art. Who knew?
What our children did?
The children of each class choose their Turks and Caicos nature inspired outline. Each outline was segmented into random shapes. Each child sketched their doodles in pencil first, creating a unique pattern. Then it was time to colour the shapes. Wow, they made their shapes so colourful! The Grade 6 artwork went to New York!
