National Environmental Centre Written By: Evadne Gardiner, Thais Burgess, Angelina Lindenhahn.Busy, busy, busy!!
Our fourth grade class has been doing great things this month! We have been doing mosaics, adding sums of money, and subtracting sums of money.
The Grade 4 class performed on the 23rd of January in assembly! The song was a 'call and respond' song which was originally made in Ghana. The name of the song was Oleo.
Exploring the botany
This month, we have also been to the National Environmental Centre and a wonderful time there, as we learned about habitats, animals and vegetation. We have learned a lot about The Turks and Caicos Islands.
For Big Writing, we made a brochure about the National Environmental Centre. We worked extremely hard to make sure that they were perfect. They were WONDERFUL brochures!
Whale bones!
Money, money, money!
In our mathematical studies, we have been learning how to add sums of money, and subtracting sums of money. This has been taking a long time but we finally got the hang of it.
Mosaics!
We have also been making mosaics of symbols of the Turks and Caicos Islands. The four symbols we have used are a flamingo, a Turks Head Cactus, a whale, and a turtle. All the mosaics are WONDERFULLY made by the WONDERFUL children!
Field trip!
In February, we are going to go on a field trip to the National Museum right on our island of Providenciales. The museum itself is in its infancy but it would a WONDERFUL experience for our children.
All in all, this month has been a FABULOUS month for all the fourth graders. We hope that next month will be just as fabulous.
