Preschool just finished a wonderful month of October! Our weekly themes were Farm, Pumpkins, and Halloween.
Our favourite farm activity was definitely making our homemade butter. We poured heavy whipping cream into a mason jar, and shook, shook, shook it up. The cream then solidified into butter! We spread it on crackers and it made for a fabulous snack.
Our favorite pumpkin activity was, of course, exploring a real pumpkin! After we played with the pumpkin guts, we painted and glittered the outside of our pumpkin. (Our entire group happens to love painting!) We painted outside, and the students loved it. There were constant "Oohs, Aahs, and Eees" of delight!
During Halloween week, we had so much fun talking about all things spooky. We had a box filled with black feathers and toy black spiders. We had a fun game where someone would place the spider on someone else, and they'd cry, "Eek, get it off!" and they'd have to swipe it off of them.
Miss Natasha and I are so lucky we have such a sweet class that loves having fun and learning with us. I have to brag that during circle time, and anchor chart time, hardly anyone ventures off, and enjoys sitting on the carpet as we do our activities. A pretty impressive group of 2-year-olds I'd say!
