Another Success at Fortis TCI Science Fair Quiz 2018
We would like to congratulate Tom Phillips, Grade 5, on his victory in the Fortis TCI Science Fair Quiz 2018 competing in the primary school science quiz. Commenting on the school resources Mrs. Hinks said,“Our school is well equipped for lots of scientific exploration! We have a dedicated science teacher and a science laboratory used weekly by Grade 3-6 students. Our children really enjoy their practical science lessons.”Tom achieved an impressive bronze after a competitive final play off. We are very, very proud! All other entrants were in teams of two, but he performed alone and faced stiff competition from 11 other schools nationwide. They all faced some 400 plus science questions. He worked incredibly hard in the weeks before the competition to study a range of science topics. The Prize Giving at the Science Fair ended with speeches and a prize giving ceremony. Our contestant received a certificate, trophy and a backpack of goodies.
