This week's BLOG is all about some fun science experiments you can at home with your kids!
One of the reasons that children at our school love science so much is because of the number of practicals which Mrs Jimenez plans into her lessons in our very own Science Laboratory! This is what makes their learning so meaningful.
Think of the famous Confusious quote:
I see and I forget. I hear and I remember. I do and I understand.
Let's Get Busy at home!
We have found two great sites for you to try with your children at home. There are lots of fun projects on this 'Science Bob'website with clear instructions. Not only that, but there are scientific explanations which go alongside them in straightforward language that is accessible to children.
Science Bob Pflugfelder is an award winning science teacher, maker, and presenter. Over the years, he has been exploring the scientific world with thousands of students and featured in magazines including People, Popular Science, Disney's Family Fun, and WIRED magazine.
You can try fun science experiments such as Blobs In A Bottle and actually make your the world's easiest lava lamp or even lava in a cup!
We also like this site, Science Kids, which has a great experiment for writing with invisible ink!
Perhaps you may find some inspiration for the Science Fair in term 3, or just have fun bringing learning to life and doing something different at home by trying some of these projects with your children.
Happy learning!
