At the end of Term 2, Grade 1 went on a wonderful class trip to the Junkanoo Museum followed by lunch at Kalooki's.
Grade 1 children as a class verbalised a re-count of the day:
First, we got to go in some cars and drove for ages to the Museum. When we got there we had to wait for Mr Bell who took ages! Once we arrived we were shown all about Junkanoo costumes and they played us some music which we danced too.
After, we went into the Under the Sea room and talked about some of the animals that are in the TCI waters. It was hot!
Then we went into the Music room! This was the best room as it was full of more costumes and lots of instruments. We were shown how to play drums, blow instruments and bells.
We were taught a beat and tried our best to keep in time. After we took pictures wearing a head mask and got to explore the room.
Before we left we got to hear some of the Junkanoo music that they actually play and we danced for them showing our moves we have been learning for our own Junkanoo!
Then it was time for lunch. We were starving! We drove to Kalooki's in Grace Bay and played some games with Ms Ella. Once they were ready we all went inside and sat in groups at tables. The food was delicious.
Anaiah: "This is the second time I've been here and I'm coming back"
We then went outside again and played more games before heading back to school. It was a great trip!
