For few children, math skills come naturally. For others, mathematics is tough and boring. There are different approaches that can make math classes fun, exciting, and easy to learn and in Grade 3 that is exactly what we have been doing.
Most children are not fond of math. Math is boring simply because children find it hard to understand. Math means solving problems – but learning math itself is becoming a problem. By incorporating more games, innovative assessments, and a good attitude we changed the spirit of our math class today.
The best way to support a child’s learning of math is to have fun with numbers. Children should know that math is not abstract, but has a role in daily life.
Grade 3 children have had a blast with numbers for the past few weeks; we used lots of practical activities to support theory on place value, addition and subtraction.
