International School Sports Day 2016
There was a great sense of excitement and anticipation as our young athletes took part in the ISTCI Track and Field Sports day 2016 at the TCI National Sports track and stadium on Venetian Road, Providenciales. The children excelled themselves in terms of energy, preparation and effort as they rotated in class groups from one sporting event to the next. Challenges included throwing competition, long jump, sprint relay, basketball, football dribble, water relay, skipping and the track events as the 100m sprint, 400m and 800m. As part of the opening ceremony the house teams had prepared their own song and dance adding their own special flare and even acrobatics from Julian! Dressed in their house colours the children and their supporters created a very vibrant and sociable track and field event. Parents were seen helping with the events such as raking the sand pit, adding to the teams and even skipping. There was a female and male teacher/parent 100m race. Sports teacher Mr. Bell took the title and Tom and Matt’s mum retained her gold. Did you know that house teams received extra points if parents took part in the races. Many parents did!!! Brought out the competition!!So who won…..? see below………
