Did you know we teach paleontology in Kindergarten?

Learning about the dinosaurs and the prehistoric times has been a huge success in SK.

We are paleontologists!

Children had so much fun learning about different types of dinosaurs, how they looked like, their names, where they might have lived and what might have been their perfect habitat.

Volcanos

Everyone really enjoyed building the volcano, and experimenting with volcano eruptions (with the help of baking soda and vinegar) trying to find out how did the dinosaurs become extinct.   Our little paleontologists worked very hard studying the fossils to determine different types of the dinosaurs and documenting their observations in their little journals.  

Dinosaur Pictograms

We collected lots of data by counting, sorting and grouping the dinosaurs in order to make Dinosaur Pictograms. Children also made Pterodactyls out of empty water gallons and had a blast flying their pterodactyls below, above, beneath, underneath, between, alongside, outside, around, you name it, mastering the language of position.      

Field Trip to find Dinosaurs!

To end our fabulous Dinosaur topic, we went on exciting Field Trip, to meet the local Dinosaur relatives: the iguanas. There are islands with many resident iguanas in Chalk Sound and children were thrilled to see them, and I do want to thank our amazing parents for their help and support with the Field Trips.
