Making Super Sandy Snowmen in ISTCI Nursery School

The children in The Nursery School have been busy little elves helping to make Snow-Sandmen ornaments for the holidays. They loved the sensory experience of exploring glue and sand while pasting on different sized circles. What a lovely way to practice fine motor skills and play with the concepts of size and shape in such a concrete, hands-on way! Arts and crafts activities helps to stimulate the child’s imagination and creativity, helping with physical and mental development.   The process of making an art product can be of great interest to a young child. Children enjoy touching different textures and exploring materials as well as putting together and taking apart objects to create something unique – or just for the joy of exploring and changing something. And the best part is that we have lots of sand here in Provo! The final masterpieces and something for the parents to treasure as a souvenir of their time at ISTCI Nursery School!
