In the Preschool Classroom Ms Rae, Ms Lachele and Ms Reajanne work with the children to support their social, emotional, cognitive and physical wellbeing.
At this stage in life, children are like sponges and absorb so many skills to build great foundations to support academics well into the future. Being strong and prepared socially and emotionally allows the children to build on this solid foundation stage of school for lifelong learning!
During the year we cover many topics varying from weather, animals, the arts, holidays, music and movement, self-help skills to exploring individual and child lead interests and questions. We explore the curriculum through stories, song, group discussions, art, media, testing theories, acting out in dramatic play and exploring tuff trays of small worlds and other means of sensory or physical play.
The children learn through feeling a sense of belonging, knowing they are listened to, nurtured and encouraged and by asking, seeing, doing, feeling, trying and trying again! In this safe and exciting space, our children learn through wide and varied opportunities and knowing they are able to explore with clear boundaries that support guided and well-balanced learning.
