What a busy week on the farm. We all took turns milking 'Betsy' the cow.
Farming is important for our life. Farm animals produce many things for our life. In our preschool 'farm animals theme' the children learnt how farm animals help us. Who takes care of animals and how to take care farm animals.
Betsy, our cow, enabled us to learn where milk comes from. It was so much fun taking turns to squirt the milk!
LET'S MAKE MUD PIES!
We decided to bring our love of farm mud inside in the form of play dough, yummy smelling coffee play dough.
Sensory activities and sensory tables facilitate exploration and naturally encourage children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore.
Spending time stimulating their senses helps children develop cognitively, linguistically, socially, physically and creatively.
Here is the Coffee Play dough Recipe:
1/2 Cup of Coffee Grounds
1 Cup of Salt
2 Teaspoons of Cream of Tartar
1 Cup of very hot water
MAGIC BEANS!
Another fun sensory activities was scooping, pouring and touching the corn, split peas and dried beans. The children were engrossed in this activity and were 'finely tuning' their gross motor skills whilst playing!
