On the 8th November, in celebration of both US and Canadian Thanksgiving, the PTA provided an excellent traditional Thanksgiving turkey lunch for the school.
The scrumptious menu included roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and cranberry sauce.
The children were served lunch by parent volunteers and the students of Grade 6 kindly delivered meals to our preschoolers at the table. We also gratefully received delicious brownies, pumpkin, apple, and key lime desert pies.
The lunch was enjoyed by all students and teachers and everyone went back to work feeling very full up. Thanks for thanks giving everyone!
For Thanksgiving, Grade 6 tried their skills in the kitchen making apple pies. Under the guidance of Mrs Saunders the children worked together to core, peel and prepare the apples to make beautiful pies.
What did they taste like? "Delicious" according to Grade 6. Next year they need to make even more pies!
