The Basics of Sketching With Charcoal

  One of the first techniques taught to students attending my art class this term is drawing with charcoal. Charcoal has a unique look and texture when applied to paper that is perfect for allowing a beginning to perfect for allowing a beginning to perfect their technique and practice their craft. Did you know Michelangelo loved drawing with charcoal! And while there are many different types of pencils, chalks, and crayons used when sketching charcoal often remains a favorite for many people, due to its versatile nature.
