The Grade 3 class had a lot of fun learning about hieroglyphs. The students had the opportunity to write their own secret messages using the hieroglyphic alphabet as a guideline.  The children learned that it took important scribes years to figure out what each of the symbols meant and what they represented.   They learned that hieratic script was always written from left to right .  Each of the kids wrote their names in hieroglyphs  and painted them on to the black paper.   Our next exciting project will be our Egyptian masks.  We have also brought on board a very special dad who is willing to come in and help us to make a pyramid .  How exciting .  There is just so much to cover about Egypt and we only wish we had more time to explore this amazing time in history !
