At ISTCI, our first week of school started with a bang! As you can see from the happy, eager and enthusiastic faces of our wonderful children in the photographs, they were excited to return to school and continue with their learning.
During our staff training sessions last week, we worked as a team to ensure that online lessons and activities planned would thoroughly engage all the children. Our aim is to make learning fun, purposeful, and provide a range of learning opportunities catering to different learning styles.
We recognise that children have been away from school for several weeks and that it is very important to support children socially and emotionally, as well as academically. Many of the lessons, activities and learning this week centered around Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE). We want to ensure that our children are happy and secure with their new way of learning and that they become familiar with their new teacher and any new classmates.
Over the summer break, our staff have been working on their own professional development to become Google for Education CERTIFIED EDUCATORS. This has meant an enhanced experience for our learners moving forward. We are now no longer in the early implementation phase of Google for Education and we are looking forward to a smooth transition into the new term.
These are challenging times and we know that online learning adds pressure onto parents whilst children are working at home, especially in the younger year groups. I would like to take this opportunity to thank of all the parents, staff, children and the wider school community for their continued support and positivity as we move through this pandemic and the continuation of online learning.
