BOOK WEEK!
Wow! What a fun and action packed week we had! As detailed in our previous Book Week blog the children had full calendar of events all week. The grand finale was a character parade and then many wonderful story telling performances. Many thanks to the hard work of all those who made it possible; teachers for getting on board and supporting with the activities, parents for your support from home and most importantly the children for all of their hard work and enthusiasm!STORY TELLING SUPER STARS
The children worked hard all week on this project; at home and at school and all present were thoroughly entertained by the performances on Friday afternoon. What a high standard of performance, dramatic flair and speaking and listening skills we have at the Ashcroft School. Well done, one and all! We also very much enjoyed a story-telling visit from David Bowen - a STORY TELLING SUPER STAR!STORY CRAFT
All of the children from Preschool to grade 6, worked hard on writing stories during Book Week to make in to their very own books. Many thanks to the PTA for funding the supplies that we will use to make these books - we are all very excited to see the finished products!WORLD BOOK DAY
Read-In: We began World Book Day with a 'READ IN'. All the children in the school were involved:- Grades 3-6: read in silence for an hour.
- SK, Grade1-2: read with adults and their friends in the Small Playground for an hour.
- JK and Preschool: had a pajama party and read bed-time stories.
