Olivia Park – Winner of 'Female Youth Player of the Year'
International School Pupil Winner of the TCI Sports Hall of Fame Award
Congratulations to Olivia Park, the first awardee to receive the 'Female Youth Player of the Year' at the first Turks and Caicos Sports Awards and Banquet held on October 24, 2015. The Turks and Caicos Government, in particular the Department of Sports, in its quest to recognise the efforts of organisations and individuals who have impacted the lives of those involved in sports, and contributed to the development and enhancement of sports in general, will be having its first annual 'Sports Hall of Fame Award Ceremony'. The Ministry of Sport has decided to organise this event in order to pay special tribute to those individuals and organisations which have made a difference in the lives of others. Proud mother Fiona Park said, "We are so proud of our daughter Liv winning the Female Youth Player of the Year 2015 at the first annual sports hall of fame awards! Congratulations to all involved! What a fabulous evening." Olivia, Grade 4, was presented with the trophy for 'Female Youth Player of the Year' at this prestigious event and had the opportunity to meet and be photographed with Turks and Caicos Premier Hon. Dr. Rufus Ewing.Olivia participated in the inter-school soccer tournament
We are all enormously proud of Olivia and are delighted that her strength as a very talented all-round sports woman, who is happy to get stuck in and turn her hand to any new sport, has been recognised.
Arguably more important however, is the fact that her good sportsmanship qualities are being recognised too.
Competitive fun at annual Sports Day
This is something that anyone who knows Olivia can easily attest to: she is incredibly easy going and good natured, she is kind and patient and has a strong sense of fair play as well as a terrific sense of fun, she is able to delight in another’s success and congratulate the winning team whether it is hers or another’s, she is always quick to help, support and encourage others.
Great sportsmanship qualities!
Rare qualities indeed for one so young. It is indeed, very appropriate that she should be honoured in this way.
CONGRATULATIONS Olivia, we are all so very proud of you as the Winner of the TCI Sports Hall of Fame Award – ‘Female Youth Player of the Year Award’.
